PMM Group helps SPEAR reach 19 more homeless people in Wandsworth in just 3 months

PMM funds two Rough Sleeper Outreach Workers who help support rough sleepers on the streets in the Borough of Wandsworth. Between January and March, 19 rough sleepers have been identified and the outreach workers are helping them move into accommodation and address their health and wider social case problems.

Due to the success of the programme, Spear have recently been awarded Government funding to support additional accommodation options and grow the Outreach team.

The PMM funding was agreed at a crucial time for SPEAR when the Wandsworth Rough Sleeper Outreach service was at risk of shutting down and it was vital for SPEAR to keep the continuity of the service, so that the charity could successfully bid for additional government funding to build on the very high demand of rough sleepers in Wandsworth.

Coming to work for SPEAR as a Trainee Outreach Worker has been an inspirational challenge. Having been a survivor of domestic violence and family alcoholism myself, my passion is to help people who have become homeless, so that they can turn their life around – with the right support. With your funding, SPEAR is able to give them that support.
